Hola:

This week was awesome...like every week! First things first, Alex was safely returned to her house and yes, confirmed yesterday!! Second, transfers happened!! Yesterday right after church we got a call from the wife of Pres. She doesn’t speak fluent Spanish, so I knew it wasn’t for my comp. And a call from her is not normal so honestly I had a bunch of things running through my mind, I thought something bad happened at home and she was calling to tell me ha-ha (how negative!!!) but no obviously it was not even close. She called and said “Hey; Pres wants to know if you would like to stay with your comp another transfer. Almost never do the Hermanas stay together 3 transfers, so he wanted to know if its something you would want!” obviously I said YES because my comp is the best ever. Pres’s wife said “its not for sure he is going to pray about it but he just wanted to know what you guys think”. (This was after my Hermana Malhue said bye to everyone at church cause we were “so sure” that she was going to leave) and well that’s what happened. We are going to stay together one more transfer!! I’m excited.

We had a ward activity (that we planed so people could bring their non member friends) on Saturday! A Talent Show! A lot of non-members were invited and a few of them even participated! Our investigator Melissa sang in Italian. The ward LOOOVED her. She is a super cute 22-year-old artist from Spain. She will be baptized this weekend! Ill send pictures! It was really fun, won the trust of the members, we met some nonmembers to teach, and everyone was talking about it the next day at church! It was crazy because we planed the activity expecting about 30 or 40 people and it was going to start at 5 pm Saturday. So we went early to set up and we waited and waited and waited and there were about 6 people. For An HOUR AND A HALF. We were both almost in tears because we thought no one was going to come, but then between 6:30 and 7:00 people started showing up!! And we had about 40 people. (Which is really good for this ward, active members in between 50-55 usually on Sundays) It went really well! We tied in Family History as the theme (like getting to know the talents of our ancestors and how we need to document our talents for future generations) and we had a table with a ton of Family history info. It was one of the favorite things I’ve done in my mission so far. Well that’s about it. I LOVE YOU ALL. Have a good week!

Oct 22, 2012

Your all going to die when you here why Alex wasn´t confirmed this weekend! In my mission if someone has a date to be baptized or confirmed we do “daily contact” every day. We go to their house and have a lesson with them to keep them on track (maybe that’s in every mission..i don´t know). Anyway this week was going good with our daily contact with Alex. She was super excited to get confirmed when on Friday we went and knocked on the door. Her “dad” (or so we thought) answered the door. Right when he saw us he said “Alex can´t today........want to talk with Estér? (the mom)” confused because were all great friends we said Ok. and about 2 seconds later Estér came to the door. Ceaser left to go to work. Right after he left Estér said “well, Ceaser is embarased to tell you guys what really happened, but He´s not the biological dad of Alex, and her real Dad came and took her shopping, so she can´t today”. We thought that it was all good and told her that we´ll back tomorrow (Saturday). Saturday came and we went again to her house and once again Estér answered the door, this time with a face full of stress and tears. She said “her dad KIDNAPPED HER” and took her to provincia, and Estér had NO idea where she was. She called the police but here the police are like corrupted and have zero authority. So they didn´t do anything! They don’t have hardly any money and they spend all they had on calling the police and the dad of Alex. It was so sad. Finally after Friday and Saturday Alex called her mom balling because she was mostly worried about her confirmation and Estér told her to tell her dad that the police will be involved if he doesn’t drop her off TODAY! Well finally he dropped her off, and yesterday night she called us safe from home and said she is ok and we can come tomorrow (today) So we´ll see her today. but HOW CRAZY OF A STORY IS THAT. If I was Estér I would move far far away with out telling anything to her real dad. And he isn´t even in jail or anything. I told a member that the police didn’t do anything and the member said “yeah duh, its only been 2 and half days...its not enough time to do anything” I guess they wait a week or something here before the send out a search party or anything. So crazy. But what ever she is home now and safe! and will be confirmed this weekend!!!
Other then that nothing super interesting. Were teaching some really cool people. A ton of hippie type people, I don´t know how or why but its fun. They´re super spiritual. Transfers are this coming week so we´ll see what happens I think my companion is going to leave and ill stay here! Well i love you all thanks for your letters!!!!

Love,

This week was awesome! Alexandra got baptized. I don´t remember how much I have told you about her, so I´ll tell you a little bit. First of all her family is hilarious. Her parents are two hippies, and seriously hilarious. They laugh all day long and were always laughing hysterically when were there. We came this week and there was a piece of gum on the wall so i asked why and the mom started laughing so hard trying to tell the story. They live in a permanent hotel thing (I don’t know how to describe it.. its called a hotel but its like little apartments where people live) so there are a bunch of rules about what they can and can´t do. For example they cant put nails in the wall to hang pictures. Well, they have almost nothing of money but this week someone gave her a little fridge (she was so excited that day she told us like 7 times “IM NOT EXTREMLY POOR ANYMORE...I HAVE A FRIDGE NOW...WANT SOME COLD WATER?” Well her new fridge inspired her to decorate her house better. She didn´t like the rule of not being able to hang pictures so she decided to do it anyways. She got up on a chair to put the nail in the wall and instantly water started pouring out of the wall! Her and Cesar (the dad of Alex) were laughing so hard putting any and everything in the wall trying to stop the water. They said they tried tape, plastic, soap everything and then finally after composing them selves from laughing they put a piece of gum in it and it worked! hahah. Well each time were there at their house they have a new story. Yesterday we went and Estér (the mom) was organizing a bunch of stuff in a trash bag frantically so we asked what happened and she said that she was sitting in her house talking to Alex about her baptism when they heard someone pounding on the door super super strong. She ran to answer the door and it was 5 police men yelling. They told her someone is throwing things off the balcony and two people had to go to the hospital. Right when they told her this she ran upstairs to check on her 3 year old son(Joaquin) and sure enough he was standing on the balcony with and big trash bag full of shoes and toys throwing them off the balcony. The police came in the house with out permission and said WHO IS IT, Estér said ¨my son, I’m so sorry´´ and the police men thinking it was some dumb teenager said ´´WHERE IS HE WHERE IS HE´´ Estér super embarrassed pointed to her little 3 year old son and said Right here. and all 5 of the police men started laughing hysterically. Joaquin started crying saying “I’m sorry, don’t take me to jail, I wont do it again, I’m sorry I’m sorry´´ hahah they had to sign a paper saying they wont do it again and Estér had to clean up all the things from the street. There was a crowd of people and they kept asking ´´who is the mom if him why would she let him do that´´ and she kept saying ´´yeah, I have no idea. No, I’m not the mom. She’s a little crazy. she lives next door´´ hahah Well anyway they want to get baptized so bad (the parents) but they aren´t married, they want to get married, but he has to get divorced first and its like super hard here. So anyway, Alex got baptized and it was awesome. A ton of members came to support her and yeah. It was a good week! I´m loving the mission, Argentina, my comp, my area, my district...everything is good! Love you all!

Hi! How awesome was conference? I watched it in Spanish this time, a little disappointing, its just not the same...but it was good! Seemed like the theme was repentance and being truly converted. I was excited to hear the age of missionaries changed. I think they´ll have a TON more missionaries in the field now. And now girls can go younger and get back younger so they can get married. I think the fear of not getting married scared a lot of girls out of going. So I think it will be awesome! I left my notes at home, oopsies! So I don´t remember who talked about this but i liked the talk about conversion (I know there was like 100 on that) but the one that said basically(in different words) if were not happy...were not converted to the gospel. The gospel is a gospel of happiness, were here to make our will God´s will. And if we really understood and accepted God's will we would be happy because we would trust that he knows best. I loved it. Happiness is Conversion. Simple and true. If you’re not happy...you’re not converted. I also loved Elder Holland’s talk. He is one of my favorites. Well that’s about all. I love you all a ton! xoxo

Hi!
This week was good! We had another baptism! Valentin. He is just the cutest. He reminds me of a Latin Justin Bieber….Always dancing and singing with a hat and everything. He is 9 years old, and was baptized on Saturday and confirmed Sunday. Right when we walked into church the whole primary welcomed him and he participated in the Primary program in the sacrament meeting with out notice or anything. He didn´t know any of the songs so we just mouthed random words with a huge smile, it was hilarious and really cute. This is super short, but gotta go! I love you all a ton!!  xoxoxx
