HOLA! Well! GUESS WHAT!!! Remember Hermana Sperry? My comp that finished my training? We were together 2 transfers and she is literally one of my best friends, but she went to the South of Argentina for a while with my companion from the MTC Hermana Kapp. (My other best friend) ...Well the temple here is going to open this week so President brought ALL the sisters up from the south to be here in Buenos Aires....and well we got a call yesterday right after church that Hermana Kapp AND Hermana Sperry are coming TO OUR APARTMENT FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS!!! So they got in late last night and we have been together laughing and catching up all day! We all got ´´specially invited´´ with about 20 other missionaries from this mission (20 from BA West, and South too) to go the temple today and got to go in and get a tour from Elder Arnold (the president of south American missions) and we are going to be the missionaries helping the opening day of the Open House (this Saturday) We didn’t get to bed until about 12:30 because the other Hermana’s didn’t get in until really late, and we had to be at the temple at 9:00 so we had to wake up today at 4:15! hahah worth it!! Oh yeah...public speaking fear? We have to guide and explain the temple to groups full of 20-80 people numerous times every week for the next 6 weeks! hahah I´m going to be a pro at speaking in public in a few weeks!! I can´t wait!
Well we have transfers this coming week and I have 6 months here in Urquiza, Well see what happens! I love you all! xoxoox

love,
Hermana Marchant

July 9, 2012

Hola!
Wow, you´re week sounds like it was awesome and full of family!! Happy fourth, birthday, and return of Pam and Alan! Ironically, today (the 9th) is Independence Day for Argentina!

No, it wasn´t annoying at all walking around trying to find a internet cafe open today :) haha.  No but this week was good!  I actually didn´t realize it was the 4th of July until at ward counsel like 7 members told me happy holiday!

THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME!! First of all we had 3 baptisms! My first family!! Made (the mom), Antonio (son), and Micaela (daughter). They had a date for baptism, for the 15th because Micaela only had 2 times attending church (need 3), but I really felt like they should be baptized sooner.  So we called Pres and got permission! They are so awesome! It was one of the craziest days I´ve ever had. I wish I had a camera following me around on my mission so you could really experience the craziness.  But they got baptized and that’s what’s important! There is one more 12 year old, the youngest in the family that is almost NEVER there so we can´t teach him.  But were going to baptism him too...when we find him!

Well, as if 3 baptisms were not awesome enough we FINALLY got permission from the mom of Romina (this 11 year old little girl that I love here in Argentina that I always talk about) to be baptized!! We are planning it for this coming weekend! I don´t know what happened.  Usually when we come her mom won’t let us in, won’t talk to us or anything. But after months of praying and dropping Romina as an investigator for a long time, we went by one day and she let us in.  She signed the paper and took a picture with us and laughed and said she´ll be there at her baptism! (she´s going to see it and wants to get baptized too...i just know it!!) Miracle!

My companion is a hair stylist too! Were going to start a service activity every Wednesday before ward counsel and cut members hair and tell them to bring their friends so we can get reverences!! Free hair cut...and salvation, that’s like the best gift ever! Well another day, week, month... everyday goes faster and faster! Thanks for all your love and letters! xoxo

July 2, 2012

Hi!

Fotos...Por fin. Sorry I haven´t sent a lot lately!! It takes time and time is limited! We had a baptism this week for Maria Elena! She is the girl friend of a member. They want to get married in the temple and everything! She´s so awesome! A friend of her´s (Hermano Corbo) did the baptism, He is really skinny and she´s a little bigger and well, the water wasn´t as full as it should be, because as you know baptism days are crazy crazy so for a few reasons...the water wasn´t as full as it should be. Well anyways they were both a little nervous and when she went down in the water he kept pushing and pushing to make sure she was emersed. It probably was only a few seconds but it felt like 2 minutes. everyone gaspt because Maria probably thought she was drowning or somthing!! But she came up with a huge smile anyway and everyone pretended like nothing happened! haha in the end it was beautiful and she was happy and WE HAD A BAPTISM.

We also had 12 investigators at church on sunday. Thats the record for me in my mission. I had 9 once but 12 is the most I´ve ever had! Were teaching 3 familys! My comp is awesome. I love Latins, they work hard, our cultures are super different so we don´t really talk about home, and I can´t speak english with them, so my spanish is getting better everyday! I´ve really become attached to this ward. We have members that we´ve built a relationship with thats so strong that they are calling us asking when they come help us and come to lessons with us. SUCH A CHANGE. We had to BEG members to come out with us when I first got to Urquiza 5 months ago. They are more then just members they are some of my best friends and family. With each companion change I can see progression huge. Well all is well and I love you all. Thanks for your love! Hope your all warm and summery while im freezing down here :) xoxo
